From the start in 1970, ACAM had the ambition to offer his members a wide range of scientific literature.

Today this trend still continues.

We look out for new literature on a regular base and we acquire new books almost every month.

Above that we have a number of subscriptions on periodical journals form Belgium and abroad.

ACAM now owns a library with more than 4500 works in the following fields of science:

  • Paleontology
  • Geology
  • Crystallography
  • Chemistry

We have on each of these domains a great number of books en journals from all over the world.

Consulting the books and journals in the library is possible during the opening hours of the Academy for Mineralogy.

Only members of ACAM can, at no costs, borrow the books and journals.
Borrowing and returning of the books is possible during the opening hours of the Academy for Mineralogy, and during gatherings.

The lending period for the books and journals is 1 month.

Almost all works can be borrowed.
Only a small part cannot be borrowed because of their high value or rarity.
They can of course always be consulted in the library.
